Plenty of buzz around the web today about the possibility of Apple releasing a Wireless iPod later this year according to iPod chip maker Portal Player

Incorporating Blutooth and WiFi into an iPod would enable users to use Bluetooth headsets, browse music on a host computer, and even download new music from iTunes at hotspots.

If your hanging on for a Wifi iPod, I would guess you'll have to wait until around Oct 2006. This seems to be a favorite time for the launch of new products, as it will enable Apple to catch the iPod holiday sales rush.
