iPod Games


There are surprisingly few decent iPod games out there. The problem is that Apple hasn't released a software-development kit (SDK) for the iPod yet, and that really needs to happen for there to be more games developed for the iPod.


Apple doesn’t not provide the API or framework to write custom applications/games for iPod, the reason (in my opinion) is that they don’t want to the reveal internal workings of the iPod to the development community who would hack it and play non-iTune songs etc.
That said, there are a couple of places where you can find iPod games.


If you want to stay ahead of the field, we’d recommend checking iPodlounge early and often to see if it has iPod games available.

OX Play iPod Games


What they Claim:
These simple gamebooks are designed to be played on Apple iPods. Each is broken up into extremely short text files(three sentences or less) in order to fit on the iPod's screen. These text files are then linked together in HTML style. The games are distributed either via download or on CD-ROM (although they take up only a miniscule portion of the available space on each disc). Although they are meant to be loaded into iPods from a PC or Mac, the stories are in plain text format and can be read or printed on a computer with a little bit of work.
